I define “Heroic Living” as our willingness to journey into new territory and face our challenges in ways that benefit everyone – ourselves, others and the world.

We all have a choice between whether we become victims or heroes, in this sense. What will we do with our isolation?

Yet, in our experience of things “doing violence” to our spirit, we often feel very alone and isolated. One reason for this stems from the uniqueness of our experience.

We are unique physically, as you know: the retina of our eyes, our hair, fingernails, fingerprint, etc.

We also are unique spiritually, that is, in our experience of what we like and what we don’t like. We are unique not only in our darkside, but in the way things impact us in a negative manner. So, in these sense, it is impossible for us to experience negative things in exactly the same way.

There is an “aloneness” in the heroic experience. This is like the well from which great resources are drawn. The result of this experience is a contribution by the individual and the experience of a very deep connection with others and the world.
