As James Hillman has said, “The victim is the flip side of the hero.”

I define “Heroic Living” as our willingness to journey into new territory and face our challenges in ways that benefit everyone – ourselves, others and the world.

We all have a choice between whether we become victims or heroes, in this sense. What will we do with our isolation?

As Yeats has said: “It takes more courage to look at the dark side of one’s own soul — than to fight on the battlefield!” the poet, Yeats.

We all have a choice between whether we become victims or heroes, in this sense. What will we do with our isolation?

The courage to proceed from the state of being a victim to the state of becoming a hero — is a real courage.

Shamanic Tools and Resources can help us deal effectively with their experience of spiritual violence in their lives.

As human beings we often seek “comfort” in the similarities between ourselves and other people.

Yet, in our experience of things “doing violence” to our spirit, we often feel very alone and isolated. One reason for this stems from the uniqueness of our experience.

We are unique physically, as you know: the retina of our eyes, our hair, fingernails, fingerprint, etc.

We also are unique spiritually, that is, in our experience of what we like and what we don’t like. We are unique not only in our darkside, but in the way things impact us in a negative manner. So, in these sense, it is impossible for us to experience negative things in exactly the same way.

Shamanic Tools and Resources are able to deal effectively in helping people process and deal with their experience of spiritual violence in their lives. As James Hillman has said, “The victim is the flip side of the hero.”

There is an “aloneness” in the heroic experience. This is like the well from which great resources are drawn. The result of this experience is a contribution by the individual and the experience of a very deep connection with others and the world.

I have elsewhere defined “Heroic Living” as the willingness to journey into new territory and face our challenges in ways that benefit everyone – ourselves, others and the world.

We all have a choice between whether we become victims or heroes, in this sense. What will we do with our isolation?

The courage to proceed from the state of being a victim to the state of becoming a hero — is a real courage.

“We usually turn the expression of what we experience either inwardly to ourselves, or outwardly to other people.

It’s worth the time to better understand our experience, and find the tools for working with our experience, before we get carried away with expressing ourselves.

The amount of energy we spend trying to ignore or deny our experience is amazing — exhausting, and sometimes overwhelming.”
